I’ve been wanting to be a better blogger, but once I get home I can’t seem to bring myself to do anything more intensive than typing the word “Netflix” into the search bar of my computer. I haven’t left work yet, but I wanted to give the world a quick update.
We have been rocking and rolling at school. I feel like I am starting to hit my groove, as crazy as that sounds. I love my kids and I feel like they are starting to “get me”. Mainly my sense of humor. I love that the sarcasm goes over some of their heads, but I also love when some of my fourth and fifth graders get it. They are also learning that I have quite the comebacks. I never am that quick on my feet when I’m out in life, but with the kids I seem to think a bit faster than they do.
We got in two big boxes of new books today, so I’ve had some fun this evening setting them up. I’ve also relabeled the last of the fiction books (minus what is checked out anyway) that needed it. I have started shifting my shelves over a bit so they can fall into their new homes. We got some more bookends recently, but I still don’t feel like I have enough. There’s some places that are leaning a little bit, so I’m trying to figure that one out. I’m going to have to order some more soon. I’ve also bought some shelf labels, so these now show where call numbers begin (and where they end).
I recently went to the Virginia Children’s Engineering Conference. I had a grand time and I really learned a lot of things which I am excited to present on next week. Another teacher went with me and I am looking forward to seeing what she has to share as well.
Before I went to VCEC, we celebrated our 100th Day of School. We had our STEM Night that evening. I rocked my Baby Shark themed 100th Day shirt.
I also wanted to share a random hodge podge of photos that are too good to go unseen.
I’m getting ready to drag myself towards home, but it was good to give an update. I’m really thankful every day because I feel like I have the best job. It doesn’t feel like work. It feels like I get to come to school every day and play with kids. As a technology nut, I feel like Henry County is the place to be.
