FALLING ACORNS, MIGHTY OAKS

Like Sand in an Hourglass

Time has slipped by like sand in an hour glass. It wasn’t until I was packing for my trip back to Martinsville last Saturday that I realized how little time was left. It seems like a while, but with everything that is going on I know the time will simply fly away in a whirlwind.

Monday-Thursday of this week I have the CodeVA Coaches Academy in Danville. The building we are meeting in is gorgeous and let me tell you about the food… it has been SO good. I literally have come home and eaten practically nothing for supper every night because they have fed us so well.

After we finish on Thursday, I’ll go ahead back to my parents’ until I take a trip with my best teacher friend, McHenry. We are headed to Staunton, my college town, to see a show. I am looking forward to catching up with old friends, people watching, walking, playing Wizards Unite, and just getting to “be” for a while.

We’ll leave Tuesday and return Friday. Then I’ll have class Saturday, Drake’s All Star baseball tournament Sunday (I hate I am missing Saturday’s games!).

Finally, on the 22nd of the month, I will begin my “chill” time. I’m going to hang out and do a lot of nothing until I leave on the 31st to go back to Martinsville. I’m really looking forward to the school year. I’m trying not to stress. I wanted to go into school and spend some time working this month, but that hasn’t really panned out. I’m hoping that I’ll get the chance to get a lot done on our work days and on August 1st and 2nd. I’m just going to brace myself for the late nights and endless work that is to come, but that’s okay… I’m really looking forward to seeing my kids and seeing what next year looks like.

While it has been nice to have a break, I am one of those people who constantly needs to be doing something… until I am actually doing it and then I wish I was at home. Well, that’s only most of the time. I am craving my routine and structure. This week has been nice because I have been in a pseudo routine. Get up, get ready, go to class, come home, relax, eat, and then I have been going to Planet Fitness. I have got to get on a good routine with that this school year. I’m hoping since I have a year under my belt already that I will be able to slide out of the library earlier on some days.

Now that I’ve rambled enough about my life’s calendar, I’m going to sign off since I probably should have already headed to bed. Unfortunately, I am a little wired. Between the caffeine and later evening workouts with the refreshing showers before I leave the gym… well, I’m awake.
