While I went out to eat today, I was so caught up in the food that I failed to take any photos. Tonight was the goodbye supper for a coworker, so with the chaos I was far too busy eating to worry with documenting the meal.
After supper, I decided to take a walk. There was a huge rainstorm today, so that left everything damp. I wanted to take some pictures of the skyline and see what was around, so I started walking in the direction of campus.
The first thing I stumbled across were the flowers in people’s yards. Oh my goodness are there some awesome gardeners in Staunton. Not the best photo, but I was pretty far away and using my long lens.
This is my favorite photo of the day, partly because I think the water droplets are such an interesting added detail.
Everywhere you look, there is something growing.
A little slice of moon came to visit us.
And finally, nothing beats a Staunton sky.
Today was good. I’m trying to revel in more days like that. More days of just fun.

I love Rose of Sharon! I used to have one of these trees at my old house and I miss it. My doesn’t, though, because those gorgeous purple flowers make a big mess when they fall off the tree. I’m trying to sneak one into the new yard, but I’ll have to plant it in a spot where it won’t matter that the spent flowers are all over the place.
Thank you for solving the mystery of what the plant is! I will have to tell my parents, since they were more interested in what it was than the photo being interesting!
