Todoist Review: An End of an Era of Wunderlist

I am a long time user of Wunderlist, a to-do list app that is cross platform.  It has kept my life in order, allowed me to share lists with friends, and has been there for me across all my devices when needed.  When they announced that they were killing Wunderlist and a new app, ToDo, is available, I decided to start looking elsewhere.  I’m not dead set against Microsoft or anything, but I wanted to explore what else is available out there.

I found Todoist.  It wasn’t long before I was offered a free trial of their premium features and I took the bait.  I ended up paying for a premium subscription because the added features enhance the experience, honestly.

One of the best features of the app is our shared lists.  My friend Ashley and I are constantly using this app to keep track of things that we want to do together.

I have included a screenshot of one of our shared lists, so you can see Todoist in action.

Wunderlist was great and I loved supporting them, but Todoist does everything that Wunderlist had and then some.  I really enjoy the labels support and ways to organize things within lists, plus it’s excellent at letting you see how many things you have checked off your list today.

It was super nice to get a lot of stuff done today.  I’ve started using this heavily for work.  We recently got a new boss and my first individual meeting with him is tomorrow.  He’s been here two days and I have lots of things to inform him about, ask about, and suggest to him.  It’s about eight things that I’ve been keeping up with the past few days.  I’m looking forward to being able to chat with him and check these things off my list.

If anyone has any more questions or wants to see a particular feature of Todoist, let me know.

I had not heard Wunderlist was going away. We use it to share grocery list and such. I spent an hour teaching my mother and aunt how to use it to avoid the grocery list left at home drama I observed while home last summer.

Yeah, there was a big fuss over. Wunderkinder, their parent company, got bought out by Microsoft so the new Microsoft ToDo app is out and they’ll kill Wunderlist at some point.
