FALLING ACORNS, MIGHTY OAKS

What Was On My Burner Last Night

Last night was a good cooking night.  Tilly threw together a salad, I made Instant Pot rice, and I cooked up the deer meat with onions and mushrooms.  I’m finally done with deer meat, after making deer jerky as well.

Anticipate a post about jerky, an Instant Pot review, and more coming soon.  I’ve got a couple of things on order as well (I don’t wanna say what yet because I would like to wait until it has been safely delivered to my house!).  I’m looking forward to reviewing some items.

This morning was our big work breakfast, with a pancake making station.  We have one once a month on the first Friday.  It was delicious and has left me sleepy afterwards.

I’m almost done with the semester for my grad classes.  Three big assignments stand between me and completion of the semester, which I can’t wait to be done, let me tell you.

I’m mostly looking forward to the freedom for a few weeks.  I want to be able to enjoy Christmas vacation and get some good reading in, so I can keep featuring reviews on the blog.  I also want to get some good knitting in, as I’ve started some major projects and I’m looking forward to seeing them progress.

I’m glad it’s Friday, mostly.  I love the freedom that comes with Fridays.  I won’t be running out of work today at 4:30, however, as we have some visitors on campus.

I’m also looking forward to tomorrow, as I’m going to eat with Allison and her girlfriend Erica.  We are going to my favorite, the Fishin’ Pig (which I really need to review on the blog, so maybe I can make that happen) and we are going to see a movie (which I also could review on the blog), then we are going to take pictures.  Of course, you know I”m going to say I can share some photos of them on the blog!  They are the cutest couple and need some pictures for their holiday cards, so I’m looking forward to having some new work for my portfolio.
